Homemade Waterproofing…. Cotton, Leather, Wood, Metal, or Whatever !!!

By | June 16, 2016

Just wanted to pass on an easy waterproofer that I learned how to make a very long time ago. Just be careful when making it. It’s very easy to get burned if you don’t pay attention. Otherwise it’s the type of recipee that will work for a lifetime.
Recipe is as follows 16oz of beeswax + 8oz of turpentine + 8oz of linseed oil = The best waterproofer that can be made at home.

if is a 1-1/2-12 ratio then you messed up. the 1lb of wax is by weight. you measures the liquids by volume not weight.

Did you know that metal is already waterproof?

Great video! I have a question that someone asked before. Is this mix toxic to your skin? It is safe to wear something with the mix applied?
