N’Ice Caps TM boys soft sherpa lined micro fleece pilot style hat and mitten set. Material is very soft for warmth and comfort. Product features include velcro chin strap on hat, hanging tassels, elastic on mitten wrist. 5 colors available: Black, navy, royal, charcoal grey, red, light blue. 4 sizes available: One size fits 3-6 months; one size fits 6-18 months; one size fits 2-3 years; one size fits 4-7 years. For infant sizes 3-6 months and 6-18 months, the mittens do not have thumbs. For larger sizes 2-3 years and 4-7 years, the mittens have thumbs. Not all colors available in all sizes. Tested and approved as per CPSIA standards.

    My little man looks good in pretty much everything but he definitely pulls off adorable in this hat and mittens combo. At 6 months he is putting just about everything in his mouth right now. The micro fleece on the inside does come loose so be sure to wash this a couple times before wear if your kid is also a fan tasting anything within reach. If there is anything I could be negative about, it’s that I pretty much have to keep the hat strapped all the time if I don’t want it sliding around on his head. My kid’s bean is a little smaller than average (16th percentile) so maybe an average sized dome wouldn’t have a problem. I just get a little nervous when he’s in car seat trying to sleep and he’s got the hat turned with the straps hanging over his face. The other thing with leaving the hat unfastened is the velcro. He doesn’t seem to mind it but I would imagine it’s a little rough on his chubby cheeks when it’s hanging down all loosy goosy.

    This set seems really well made, and seems like it will be nice and warm between the fleece outer and sherpa lining, and the chin wrap style was just what I was looking for since little ones don’t really do scarves and the wrap style will help keep his face warmer. My child is 19 months and is a little big for his age so I thought the 2T-4T size would be great… not so much. The gloves aren’t so bad, but the hat is WAY too small. For reference for other parents, my son has a 20″ head circumference, and it was a little tight around and way too short (didn’t cover down over his ears and there was no way the chin strap was going to connect). I’m going to return and try the 4-7 yr size, but that’s a bit ridiculous. *Update: I received the 4-7 yr size and it fits, but barely. The chin strap reaches fine, but the forehead could come down further to cover better, same on the neck. He definitely won’t be able to use it next year. The gloves are much larger, probably would fit a 4-5 yr old. It’s warm and fuzzy though and my son seems to like it.

    We haven’t had the cold weather to wear these outdoors but when I tried them on my grandson but we tried them on him and he smiled a lot. The inside lining of the hat and gloves are amazingly soft, like a cloud! The velcro front closure seems to be strong enough to stay snug around the chin. I also love how the sides come down over the ears to keep them warm and toasty too. I just love the design of this hat and know it will keep my little grandson warm and toasty in our coldest Pennsylvania winter temps! Just the fact that he DIDN’T tear the hat off in two seconds was a good predictor that he may just keep it on when he really needs it for warmth!
