Nice quality, but thumbs are tricky as others have stated,
As others have mentioned, it is tricky getting the thumbs of my 2 1/2 year old to alight properly, but I think that is an issue with most mittens. The velcro straps do make it easier to put the mittens on, so that is nice. I highly suggest opening the velcro all the way and making sure you have a good sense of wear the thumb whole is in relation to the rest of the mitten. It helps a bit.
Depending on the coat your child wears, you may choose to put the mittens on before the coat so that 1) you can get the mittens on all the way, 2) the snow will have a harder time working its way in, and 3) there will be less bulging of the mitten opening and the coat sleeve openings.
As mentioned, my son is currently 2 1/2 and there is room to grow in these which is nice.
