Glacier Glove Ice Bay Waterproof Fishing Glove review
What’s up, guys? Bird from birdknowsbest.com doing a review on the Glacier Glove Ice Bay Fishing Glove. These are waterproof gloves that have quite bit of dexterity that are used to keep your hands dry at any time, any situation where they’re going to be wet. They’re made of 90 percent neoprene, 10 percent polyester. They provide very good dexterity. And I would say they would keep you warm down to 25, maybe 30 degrees. They’re not cold-weather gloves, but they are just designed to keep your hands warm. One good feature about these is they go up very high in your wrists so if you do have a long jacket or something, they’ll go over top of it to ensure your wrists do not get wet. Also, they’re tight enough that you can put on a larger glove over top of it if you are worried.
I’m 6’4”, 200 pounds. These are size large and they fit me just fine so the sizing seems to be pretty true. The other nice part is the inside is made of fleece, which helps keep your hands very warm. The Glacier Glove Ice Bay Fishing Gloves weigh 3.55 ounces. All right, guys, so here I’ve got the glove on. And I’m just going to dip it in the water here. And you know, I’m not getting it up too high. Again, very…Feel nothing on the inside. And if we take it off here, show you, my hand is pretty much dry. No dampness on there, whatsoever so they are waterproof. You know, you want to make sure obviously you don’t go past the wrists but definitely waterproof.
All right, guys, I just want to show you the dexterity of the glove here. Now, I’m going to take my rabble, a chrome rabble lure, which works well, one of my favorite lures. Take that up. Pretty easy to do there. Now, I’m going to connect it with snap swivel as you can see here. And I’m going to just try to take it up with the gloves on. One good thing about the gloves is if the hooks do brush your hand, they don’t obviously stick you, which is anybody used to fish knows you will be stuck by hooks. I’m pushing on it. It’s a little bit of a struggle. It’s not going to be fast, but if you work at it long enough, you can get it open as you can see there. So doesn’t have great dexterity. You’re not going to be able to tie hook on, but it will be able to take up the swivel after a little while.
All right, guys, so I’ve had a couple of weeks to use these. I actually was fishing in Northern Wisconsin last weekend in July. And the high was 52 and the low was right around 40. And I was only one in the boat that had gloves. I had them in my dry case, waterproof backpack. And man, I was happy I had them. They definitely kept my hands warm. That’s in about 40 degrees and they’re waterproof. They are what they say they are. You know, they run 16 to . They’re true to size. On Amazon, the link below if you want to check them out.
