Nursery care – If you are travelling with particularly young children, then you may want to find out about crèches and childcare facilities in and around the resort. When seeking out crèches and nurseries, do your research – perhaps friends or relatives have some recommendations. If your child takes any medication then clear details of this should be given to whichever childcare facility you choose. Be aware that some nurseries and crèches will not administer any kind of medicine, so it is best to check these things before making any arrangements.

Clothing – Warm and waterproof clothing is a necessity, including hats, jackets, gloves, warm boots and scarves. All-in-one ski outfits are a great idea for children, and adults too, as they are nice and warm and great at keeping out snow, muck and moisture. Remember that several thin layers work better at insulating the body’s heat than one big thick layer – this makes packing a lot easier too.

Health and safety – The most important thing you can do for your children on your skiing holiday is to keep them warmly dressed and dry. Your children will need good quality ski helmets too, to protect them if they fall. A great way to improve your children’s safety is to enrol them in ski classes, either before your trip or at your resort. Here they’ll learn to ski safely and in a protective environment.
