ScratchSleeves | Baby Boys' Stay-On Scratch Mitts Stripes | Blue and Cream | 9 to 12 Months

Simple and effective solution for scratchy little ones. The unique double layer scratch mitts with a smooth silk outer layer ensure that damage caused by scratching and rubbing is minimized. The cardigan design ensures that ScratchSleeves are easy to put on and stay firmly in place without the need for fiddly fastening, which can also be used for scratching. Loose fitting sleeves ensure that babies stay cool and sensitive skin on hands and arms is not irritated.

Originally designed for babies and kids with eczema, ScratchSleeves are also effective for all sorts of scratching and irritation including chicken pox, cradle cap, ear pulling, overly enthusiastic thumb sucking, scab picking, nail-biting and even hair pulling.

“Thank you so much for inventing ScratchSleeves! Our 18 month old daughter has had severe eczema since she was six months old and ScratchSleeves have changed our lives! Her ScratchSleeves have been such a comfort to her (and us) that she now will pick them up and bring them to us when she gets tired and wants to take a nap.” – Marcie.

This size is available with pink stripes, blue stripes or cappuccino stripes. Other sizes available in various colors from 0 to 8 years. To ensure a good fit measure your child’s ‘wingspan’ (the measurement from finger-tip to finger-tip with arms out-stretched) and compare to the measurements in the size dropdown. There is an allowance for growing room built into the sizing so it is best not to buy a size up if your child’s measurements are close to the top of range.

I love these types of sleeves. I’m only giving four stars only because the Scratch Me Not Flip Mittens work a lot better for my son. He is able to take these off somehow, though that might be because they are slightly baggy. The fabric is thinner on the mitten and has started to degrade, but let’s be honest…I wash them daily! They’ve been through a lot. I’d recommend these more for if you are kind of watching your child play, but would recommend the thicker fabrics of the Scratch Me Not Flip Mittens for when your child is sleeping or in the car seat where you can’t get to them when they are scratching. I have two pairs of these.

I was not as impressed with these sleeves as I was hoping to be. While the mitts are silk and perfect for my severe eczema ridden baby, the sleeves kept falling off. Theyre designed to be worn UNDER clothing. The only way we were able to keep these on was by wearing them under a long sleeve shirt or onesie. If worn under a short sleeve onesie or shirt, my son would manage to get his hands out of them and start scratching. They were extremely loose, even after getting ones with his measurements. We ended up finding silk sleeves that we could fold the the mittens away and could be worn with or without clothing.

My 1 year old did not take kindly to the idea of being strapped in this contraption. As soon as we put it on he started attempting to take it off. Twenty minutes later he was still persistently trying to take it off. I had to give up on using it, but may try again if his eczema gets really bad. When it is on, it works as advertised. Convincing your baby/toddler to keep it on might not be as easy as assumed. Good luck!
